Trying out Sketchbook Club app

Trying out text and also fur tools in Sketch Club app. Is the fur tool too contrived? Does it matter that overlapping the text in the image makes it impossible to read every letter? Do you need to read every letter? Is it just using text as image? After all, if you are repeating the word 'bee', for example, and the silhouette is of a bee, how much confusion is possible? I can't imagine that there is much - but then I did the drawing.".

No iPad drawings yesterday as I spent the day without my iPad in London

Although I didn't have my iPad with me, I did find myself in the Apple Store in Covent Garden. How did that happen? Enjoyed iPad chat with enthusiastic assistant and left wishing I had the small, light keyboard that would go with my iPad so well.

The point of the visit to London though was to see Picasso's Vollard suite of etchings at the British Museum. Brilliant! His use of line is amazing and generally more fluent in etching than dry point. (not surprising when you compare the techniques.) it was interesting to see the prints shown next to classical sculpture, given the strong classical influence in this suite. Also on show were etchings by Rembrandt and Goya who had quite different styles.

While drawing on my iPad this morning...

I had been researching some ideas on the topic of environment when these flew in!
I'm taking it as a good sign, even if it felt like a good idea to vacate the garden for a while when the air was buzzing and thick with bees!
